Jebus.

"The Wrestler":

a) Mickey Rourke is marvelous

b) Marisa Tomei shines in a few scenes, slumps in others

c) Todd Barry is odd, but manages to inject some humor without bathing the scenes with L E V I T Y

d) Evan Rachel Wood is just terrible. Her scenes are gaping wounds in an otherwise smooth road.

e) the story is a familiar yarn full of stock characters and its lack of originality keep it from being a must-see sort of film - the true spark is Rourke. Make no mistake, you are there to watch Rourke.

I'd told people all of those exact things (except the Todd Barry part...had to look him up, but yeah, you're right).

JSG should do Podcasts, too! (she probably even knows what that is! - I assume it is internet radio of some kind)

Uh, no. Unlike you, Young Matthew, I don't have anything to say about anything real.

Congrats to Jeff and M______!!! Here, have a LaRocca Chocolate Silk Cream Pie on me (no-relation discount, either! Wink ).

Does anyone find it odd that FBP refers to her kids as "Thing 1" and "Thing 2"?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy  T1 dude and his little lady are probably totally sexting by phone. Awesome.

Oh, hey, Evan, I'm gonna be in Texass picking up some swine flu May 14-18. Should we make a plan to hang?

Some of these 'uncomfortable plot summaries' are pee-your-pants funny (and totally accurate).

Speaking of swine flu, the Ft. Worth ISD just closed down til Monday.

But I work in Arlington, so I've gotta go to school.

FBP are you protective about your boys, the way dads are protective about daughters?

Within certain bounds (respectful and safe), I have a feeling I'm going to be rooting on my dudes.    Always been curious if its just girls that create those classic protective feelings or if mothers get that way about sons.

Yeah, i would say im a bit protective, it twas a bit shocking to see that picture, my little boy isnt looking at slutty girls but my guy friends put it in perspective real quick...and I grew up with 2 brothers.  Im glad I dont have girls much more to worry about.

i was so shocked I didnt look to see if it was a skimpy swimming suit or underwear but was told by thing 2 it's a swim suit Grin

Capn mark your calendar, June 11 - June 15 NYC  breakin2  breakin2  breakin2

havent been since 2002 bitchin

Thing 2 had a sex ed class called just around the corner and him and the boys sing that song and start giggling in class, he's at that goofy age 10
