I went out with the (girlie) girls last night for some vin rouge (forgot to eat dinner again...oops), then some martini "nightcaps" here, but it was a super early night relatively speaking, really, so...

...Managed to get up early today and did a bunch of chores 'round here -- got a lot done by 11am, and thought I had my shit together and had even more stuff I'd wanted to accomplish... until...  Ended up going go a farmer's market (got great "locavore" veg/cheese, etc.) and then the liquor store to stock up on new crop of rose (got 4 bottles of the stuff, to start), and then drinkin' on the deck in the sunshine and warmth (finally!) with my friend Isabel. Beginning of the end, as Jeff then showed up ...and now there are but 2 bottles left of the rose, he is opening a red now, it started raining (so no more outside lurveliness), our friend Pat is coming over and I'm tipsy and need a nap.

Unbelievably, there are still no voicemail messages from the niece/nephews singing "Happy Birthday" which is totally the schtick I most look forward too...all those cute, out-of-tune kid voices that make me all melt inside. Hmph.

Anyway. Good start to 45 so far...

A boy-man after my own heart!

(My friend's kid has never looked like a "baby"... somehow even when he was born he already looked two years old, like a boy kid. I adore him. Here he is at only 17 months.)

Our next door neighbo(u)r has an eight-week-old puppy. OMG, 'tis the cutest puppy in the world. His whole little bum shakes when he wags his tail*... I'm gonna die of cuteness!
