There is some serious REBEL and COUNTRY TEASERS rarity action going on in the isles:
http://www.crappity.org/index.php/topic,2341.msg142726.html#msg142726
There is even a bunch of stuff by THE MALE NURSE, a band Ben Wallers played guitar and keyboard in.

Lollapalooza in Chicago this year with Jane's Addiction, Depeche Mode, and Tool headlining... did I fall into a time warp?
Jane's Addiction... has there ever been a band that went so out of its way to piss away whatever good legacy they might have had? They reunite every time Perry Ferrell runs out of bead money but they still haven't recorded a single song worth hearing in nigh-on two decades. I really liked their two records way back when, but holy crap, am I tired of them now.

not only that...they're currently out co-headlining a tour with nine inch nails. uuuugh. i'd probably have gone to see them otherwise...what with eric avery back in the band now instead of flea or that other dude... i saw them a few times back in the heyday and those were some gooood shows. good drugs too though. and hard as it is to believe, dave navarro has even managed to out-douche perry farrell. he'sbeen rocking that fucking god awful goth/vampire look for something like 15 years now. i kinda miss the days when certain rock stars known for a bit of extravagance (such as jane's addiction) would look a bit different every time you'd see them. i mean, you modify yourself from week to week and then you settle on THAT??

Jane's Addiction might be the classic example of the drug-addled, broke-ass, underbelly-of-LA band who writes good songs about drugs, being broke, and seedy characters, then gets rich off of those songs, cleans up and loses the thread forever.
Unless you prefer GNR as the classic example of this, which I can also agree with.
