I have a mixing question.. I expect Cappy has the answers I need but I thought I'd put this out there and see if anyone else had thoughts..

here's my dillema ... I have a track that has both drums and bass on there but I want to decrease the bass.. Should I just EQ it down or is there a specfic filter that's good for just this thing..?

I mess myself up when I get into compression so I shy away from those filters..

Yep.     You just have to be careful not to kill off the kick drum in the process.     The kick is usually around 60hz while the bass is closer to 100hz.     Just use an EQ that lets you choose just a thin slice of the spectrum.    Sometimes called the "Q".
