Okay, but what about the mouse?

Something was moving up the floorboard near the radiator...and it was about as big as mouse...at first I thought it was a leaf that had blown into the apartment, but then I realized the screen was closed. I reached for my glasses and whatever it was turned around and headed back in the direction it came.

man. is that really an uncommon sight in canadia? we call them rats down here.  and they're bigger than a kaiser roll!

Shit, I almost had him. Well, I did have him (trapped under a tupperware container), but when I attempted to flip over the bowl he squeezed through the tiny space afforded him and he scrambled.

If was comfortable hurting the thing I would have simply applied pressure when he poked his head out the side, but I couldn't.

Also, it's the cutest little thing... tiny.

And no, vermin are not uncommon here, but this is the first I have seen in her apartment.

er...I think I just saw a mouse in my girlfriend's apartment....

uh oh

Um...yeah, I distinctly remember the "Make me one with everything" joke being told on the playground of my elementary school.

Yeah, it's an oldie, but see, I'm using it in a different context here.  But you can murder my jokes if you want.  I mean, who am I to complain, eh?

yeah, they like cheese. and peanut butter (not intended as a lattice.  it's true)   i'm not a big fan of the mouse traps. just brutal.  i tried the sticky pad things where they get stuck, but they sit there and squirm and squeal and it seems like worse torture than the traps. i've settled on the d-con pellets. i just open a box and put em in my attic and i never see the mice/rats anymore.  don't know if it's any more/less humane but it's better than having to watch it....

No, it was not a roach. It appeared to be a field mouse or vole.
