Speaking of Wood...good morning.

I spent yesterday splitting wood. We had like 7 or 8 big trees knocked down in a storm in october. Finally got around to renting a huge splitter and spent yesterday pretending i was in my own Woodland Reality show. Things I've learned:

  • I can drive backwards awesome.
  • I can't back up a trailer for shit. No matter which way I turned the steering wheel, that dang trailer just kept going the same way.
  • I think my wife, who operating the hydralic controls on the splliter, was eying up my fingers a little too eagerly everytime i put a log on the splitter. Honey, I know we could use a little extra fundage, but the dismemberment policy on the old life insurance isn't going to pay that much.
  • the new sam adams spring beer is awesome
  • working my ass off has actually made get up super early today totally enegized
  • I just found out itunes has radio. 8:30 today -- gospel hour on wwoz.org -- a friend "highly" reccomends it. Gonna have a listen this morning

This one reminds me of some sort of demented version of Lego houses of the holy

I want to be the guy who has to write this article. I would have loved to have interviewed the people on the beach and in the pub.

Why do motherfuckers keep insisting I go out and work, when it's so much more satisfying to just sleep on the couch with my kid?

it's one of the great curses of life.

along with why there are no bars that offer "free refills" on beer.

I sent in a Rush song for Out of 5 this week, Tripp. The theme was songs about cars. You can probably guess which one I sent.

My favorite car songs are "Daddy's Cup" and "Corolla Hoist" but I've sent in DBT and the Grifters about a million times already.

you could go with "Lost in the flood"

That pure American brother, dull-eyed and empty-faced
races Sundays in Jersey in a Chevy stock super eight
He rides 'er low on the hip, on the side he's got Bound For Glory in red, white and blue flash paint
He leans on the hood telling racing stories, the kids call him Jimmy The Saint

Well the blaze and noise boy, he's gunnin' that bitch loaded to blastin' point
He rides head first into a hurricane and disappears into a point
And there's nothin' left but some blood where the body fell
That is, nothin' left that you could sell
just junk all across the horizon, a real highwayman's farewell

And he said "Hey kid, you think that's oil? Man, that ain't oil that's blood"
I wonder what he was thinking when he hit that storm
Or was he just lost in the flood?
