I dunno. Didn't capt say earlier was better for him? Guess it depends on who else can play for that side of things...

Who else is even in a band? Eric, Miche, Ryan, Trey, Matthew...Alan! Obviously, Dragoon is plenty and the "crappitystock" part comes in with the attendees, but just wondering...

Unrelated, from a newsletter I get...

Cable companies want you to believe that you've got to pay to watch your favourite programs in high def. Here's what they don't want you to know: Often, all you need is an old-fashioned pair of rabbit ears to receive a handful of top stations - for free, in glorious HD.

The Scoop: By 2011, all Canadian stations must transmit digital signals, replacing the analogue broadcasts of yore. However, many stations - including CBC, CTV and Citytv - are already transmitting a digital HD signal.

The Gear: You'll need a TV equipped with an ATSC (Advanced Television Systems Committee) tuner; it's common on most new flat screens. A five-dollar antenna from your local surplus store might do the trick, though a pre-amp, rotor or rooftop antenna might be a better bet. Regardless, avoid the pricey so-called HD antennae; they’re a scam. Once you plug in the antenna, let your TV scan for stations. (This can be tricky, so have your manual handy.)

The Reception: It depends on your proximity to broadcast towers, and the angle and type of antenna you're using. Well-positioned folks have been known to pull NBC and ABC signals from across the U.S. border, in addition to local stations. Online forums are full of posts from keeners bragging about how their Byzantine towers pull up to 20 hi-def stations; visit here to see where you stand, and mingle with others, smug in the knowledge that at the very least, you're sticking it to the Man.

My parents have cable, but they never did remove their old rotor/antenna tower. I know where I'll be going to watch HDTV. (Answer: not my parents' place. Unless I want to watch 'Brit-coms' in hi-def.)

huh... I just did a search of what I could get with the AIR setting on the Channels  and I noticed it found the Food Network and the History Channel and a few others..
cause I've been contemplating doing away with cable and just getting a mini-mac.

I'm soooo not tech-savvy. I'm the kind of person who will pay extra so that I don't have to figure this kind of shit out. But I appreciate people who know this stuff. Oh what am I saying? I don't even own a TV (the one here is Jeff's, as is the DVD player, stereo, etc.)...not out of snobbery; we just don't need more than one.

The computer is mine, though. And it's about as basic as you can get. I'm a very late adopter.

If you want to ditch cable, just get a Tvisto and download whatever you like via torrent and watch it there.

We have cable, but cheerfully "appropriate" all of the premium cable and UK shows we like. It's pretty frigging easy.

Changing the subject again. Sorry, just wanted to get this out there before I forgot because...this shit is BANANAS!!!!

Interestingly, the lyrics pretty much indicate that Ortho, as early as 1970, thought they were doing God's work by spreading birth control everywhere they could. It wasn't just a job - they won't stop until every woman's got some! Oh, wait - only "happily married" women. Hmmmmmmmm.

Wow. The first song is particularly... Wow.

More retro/oddball fun (stag party records). Follow the link to the "risque" Cupcakes song, too (along with the other gems of course). Sweet.
