Here's my friends' shop tonight...didn't quite capture the lights (Chinese lanterns and chili pepper mini lights!) but you can see the band... Ancient Chinese Secret featuring a bunch of old school Toronto dudes, most notably instro-surf guitar genius Brian Connolly (ex Shadowy Men on a Shadowy Planet and Atomic 7). Played three sets in store, the second of which featured Wichita Lineman and To Sir With Love (the latter of which made me sing along -- in my head, cuz it's instro -- and, you know, get all weepy and shit) and Tammy Wynette and...I can't remember. Third set also awsers (missed the first). Yay!
Also, I downed a bottle of vinho verde...only to discover they were selling beer there for the first time and so I didn't have to 'stock up.' I have now suggested beer sponsorship with one of the local breweries.
Commission, please.
