for putting up with my neuroses I wanna share something with yall..

don't tell anybody yet as it probably won't evolve much further than jam sessions..

www.myspace.com/fraysia

this is what  I was doing saturday night..these are all pretty much just improvs so forgive the sloppiness.
the first song I put some glean on but then just did quick rough mixes of everything else..

I just threw the myspace page together so the other guys could hear it and download it. we're not meaning to share this with the rest of the world just yet..

very good stuff.  i'm guessing that's stivers' guitar up front? fucking great guitar player. there's something very can-ish about these songs.  well, the streets of raga anyway. and not just the improv nature. sounds like michael karoli's guitar with the reverb turned up a bit. and that recurring riff/theme in piss, vinegar is gonna be in my head all day.  infectious.

yeah, Stivers is the more dominant sounding. he has a touch of reverb on there. Jared's the one with all the pedals. I had one mike on both of them and one mike on the bass amp and the moog amp, then 2 mikes on the drums. So it's more of a room feel. Not really very good coverage but it's ok.

Way to be, Simon!

I won't be able to listen to Fraysia til I get home.

I had another weird Memphis dream. I was back for a visit, and one after another person told me to go away. I woke up depressed. I feel okay now, but you Memphians were heartless...in my dream.

knchchccc... one of my fave stupid-rock lyrics of all time.

I just love how it sets up a seemingly adversarial relationship between him and his audience.   To "rock" someone's face does not sound loving or appreciative at all.   And yet he boasts it willingly.

Good news on the Simon front. Awesome.

HEY!  I WANNA PLAY YOU SOMETHING!   (aka  karaoke retardedness,  aka i never tried to be nothin or nobody i ain't... cept maybe mick jagger once or twice on a saturday night)

also, please forgive the terrible editing, and terribler banter between songs. at one point, someone named "patrick" is called on and starts on some hank jr. business.  not me.  anyways, no way any of this is as funny to y'all as it is to me, but maybe it's worth sharing..

oh funny.    Jimmy overheard me playing Let it Bleed over the weekend and said he wanted to do it.

Maybe I'll convince him to do Love in Vain instead, since you got that one covered.

watched Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist last night.  cute.. if you find yourself having to entertain your teenage neices for an evening I'd recommend throwing this in. Otherwise I'd say pass on this unless you just want to perv out for a bit.
they DID know their uber-hip NYC locations though. they reference mercury Lounge and the Brooklyn Pool.

I want to perv out for a bit.  wacka wacka wacka!
