Is anyone feeling insecure about job security? I have a lot of students whose husbands have lost their jobs. These are generally single income families with 2 or more kids. I'd be freaking out so hard if I were in their shoes.

I'm feeling ok so far. But it really has reached that point of noticing it. Lots of overheard conversations and friends tales of losing their jobs without any forewarning.
It most definitely is scary.

This is the part of the day when the students have all gone home, but I have to putter around here for 10 or 15 min. They want us to stay til 3:45 everyday. I suppose I could try to plan my class for tomorrow, but after school, I have zero energy for productivity.

i actually had the privilege? of serving their table today for the luncheon. and governor crist, and senator nelson and congresman miller. and their wives. no shit. i'll have pictures later. the king didn't want his dessert. i had to remove it for him. |

I have been pretty sick since around Christmastime and I am very worried about my job. Went for a barium swallows test today and then almost accidentally finished myself by making an instant soup with shrimp powder in it. Ghastly waste of a day (though I am thankful I did not go into anaphylactic shock) ...one of many. I have not worked for three weeks now (though I have pretty much lost about two months work) and when my boss called me today to see if she should put me on the schedule for March we could not decide what to do.
It all seems to have started with some gastro bug I caught from a fellow employee, but I, unlike him, never fully recovered, and my responses to food are varied yet generally painful. Worst of all I have seen a return of my post-drinking agoraphobic tendencies. I feel like I am working through my anxiety problems all over again.
I really just want to work now.
