 Grin

Gooood morning all.   Had a fun weekend.  Went down to see S________ in Philly, and we had our own personal inaugural ball.   Got all tuxed up and drank the bubbley.     Then watched the Manchurian Candidate.     Weirdly had never seen it, and it was awesome.     Angela Lansbury was creepy as all get out.

On the flip side, in a moment of desperately finding something that me and E____ could agree on watching, we wound up ordering The Clone Wars.    Holy mackeral, what a stinker.   Crappy animation, horrible dialogue, war-porn, etc.      We both bailed on it.

How y'all?

I'm good.

Saw Taken last night, the new thing with Liam Neeson. It's a "give me back my daughter!"/criminals-inadvertently-mess-with-the-wrong-dude pic updated for the current Bourne style. Nicely done, with enough good acting from Neeson and turns in the writing by Luc Besson to overcome its inherent predictability. Solid video flick.

"You've taken my daughter. I do not know what it is you want. If it is ransom, I do not have it. What I do have is a very particular set of skills, learned over a long career. These skills make me a nightmare for someone like you. So what I propose is this: let my daughter go and this is over. I will not look for you, I will not inquire after you. If you do not let my daughter go, I will look for you. I assure you, I will find you. And I will kill you."

What's up with that conversation Sinatra and Janet Leigh have on the train?

In the TV spots, the guy on the other end of the phone says "good luck."  That cracks me up every time.  Good luck finding and killing me!

Yeah, that was funny.   I just presumed she was some kind of plant, using language that was supposed to trigger him.   But nope, just a weird ass conversation.   We watched all the bonus features, and it got mentioned, but nobody seemed to know what it was all about.

We went to see My Bloody Valentine in 3D. Horrible movie, but it sure did look cool. 3D looks a lot better than it used to.

What Liam Neeson does have is a very particular set of skills, learned over a long career. These skills make him a nightmare for someone like you.

So since S____ got the laptop she never uses the G4 Cube I bought her. SO I'm reclaiming  it and I hooked it up to our new LCD tv.. I have to get an Airport card  and upgrade the OS and then get a wireless keyboard and we're gonna have a slammin' living room home computer set-up.

I'm trying to remember who Liam Neeson is... I think I got him confused with Ewan Macgregor.  Or is it Ralph Fiennes?

Did he play a jedi?  Or a nazi?

COOL!

So that enables your TV to be a computer monitor?

Ewan McGregor is Neeson's Padawan learner.
