I think that's real nice, what you said, Savannah. I hope it gives Pat & Kim some comfort, knowing there are remedies and that everything can be ok.

I once dated a guy who had heart surgery in infancy, too, and then open-heart surgery again when he was 15, and except for some scars, everything's right as rain. One of the sweetest peoples I've known. Just like you Savvy. Must be something to that heart thing...

What's with the "topic is currently/will be locked!" message, and "only admins and moderators can reply"?

Weird.

My heart is fine, but everything else is completely fucked - and yet I'm able to keep a job (6th year!) and be a contributing member to society.

been kinda reluctant to share this, cause i haven't figured out how to talk about it. but we kinda need some pma's (or actual prayers, if you believe in such things).  they noticed some irregularies in the blood flow from our baby's heart, so we had to get a more detailed ultrasound.  results not good.  although they want to keep monitoring the development, as we still have a few months left, it appears that our baby has HLHS (hypoplastic left heart syndrome).
obviously we are pretty freaked out, but at this point, all we can do is follow our doctor's advice as to what's best, and stay positive.

Sending giant heaps of PMAs. Hell, I'm sending straight up love y'all's way. mind atom mind atom mind atom mind atom Heart Heart Heart

Arrrgh! So the Parts and Labor show? The venue's website has, for the past couple weeks, said that advance tix are available at local indie shops, Soundscapes and Rotate This...only neither record store had tickets listed on their websites. So, thinking maybe it was just a weird glitch, Jeff hoofed it over to Soundscapes this evening and they don't have any. The venue's close-ish to the store, so he tried there next and dude there told him there's big problem with the promoter fucking up (some kid -- or kids -- who we've not heard of before, and there's been zero promo, no press, tix obviously aren't "out there," etc.), and gave Jeff an email address. We're still waiting now to see if the show is even happening.

Have an email in with Eric to see if he has (or can get) a cell phone number for any of the Parts and Labor folk in case any shit goes down (like they show up at the venue and the gig's canceled). At the very least, they can party/crash here if need be. (Well, they can anyway, even if the show does happen.)

Cross body parts for us! (Not in a PMA-hogging kind of way; just a general 'hope that works out' kind of way.)

More uncool stuff that Jacques likes: there's a Fleetwood Mac concert on Comcast OnDemand. Cool.
