Hey Gocat you're 2 for 2 on your musical recommendations, that Decemberists EP is great. It seems a little more rock than what I've heard by them before. I like the the line about the "sister with a cock in her kisser". Great stuff.

here's a great example of concert reviewer as self-centered asshole:

The band missed the opportunity to end the show perfectly with a transcendent reading of “Where Is My Mind?” choosing instead to fade away with Deal-sung b-side “Into The White.”

oh yeah, it would have been PERFECT if only the band had done exactly what i had wanted them to do and not made their own set list decisions.  and what's with the "transcendent reading" phrase?  were the pixies sitting cross-legged on stage, holding printouts of the lyrics, and suddenly floated up through the proscenium arch?

if you can't tell, this guy bugs me.  and i know i bug him.  i have been told.

Yeah, that's a great one. Now try the Unicorns. "Who Will Cut Our Hair When We're Gone?" is a great record.
