Although a variety of qualified, intelligent, experienced doctors are available to deliver our baby, M_____ and I have decided to go with the folksy, attractive working mom/veterinarian who lives down the street.

She may not have any ob/gyn experience (though she can see the maternity ward from her house) or precisely understand how the process of childbirth or the human anatomy work. But she speaks our language as working people and knows when it's the right time to soothe our concerns with a knowing wink.

I asked her what medical techniques she uses during delivery and she said "All of them, you know, just staying current and stuff."

And then she winked and I felt safe.

The funny thing is most "anti-socialism" people oppose Democrat tax plans because they ASPIRE to the elite tax bracket (Joe the Plumber).  It's pie in the sky for all but the lucky few.  Only 1.5% of U.S. HOUSEHOLDS actually clear $250,000/year in income!

I have suspected some problems with snopes for some time now, but I have only caught them in half-truths. If there is any subjectivity they do an immediate full left rudder.
www.truthorfiction.com www.truthorfiction.com> is the better source for verification, in my opinion.
I have recently discovered that Snopes.com is owned by a flaming liberal and this man is in the tank for Obama. There are many things they have listed on their site as a hoax and yet you can go to Youtube yourself and find the video of Obama actually saying these things. So you see, you cannot and should not trust Snopes.com....ever for anything that remotely resembles truth! I don't even trust them to tell me if email chains are hoaxes anymore.
A few conservative speakers on Myspace told me about snopes.com a few months ago and I took it upon myself to do a little research to find out if it was true. Well, I found out for myself that it is true. This website is backing Obama and is covering up for him. They will say anything that makes him look bad is a hoax and they also tell lies on the other side about McCain and Palin.
Anyway just FYI please don't use Snopes.com anymore for fact checking and make your friends aware of their political leanings as well. Many people still think Snopes.com is neutral and they can be trusted as factual. We need to make sure everyone is aware that that is a hoax in itself.

It just amazes me that Republican voters want candidates who are as dumb as they are.

Why wouldn't I want a President who is smarter than me?  The job is a lot more difficult and important than mine.

It's all part of the GOP's decades long plan to seduce working-class Americans who are hurt by their economic policies by convincing them that the real issues are moral ones. And so, a candidate who seems to share their background and moral views seems like a better choice than someone who is more qualified and whose policies would be of greater help to them. All because of who is more "relatable."

Not that people always even think this shallow line of logic through. I mean, many people said Gore seemed alien to them because he was the priviliged, overeducated son of a wealthy politician. So they voted for the Yale guy from the family of billionaires with two US presidents in their line.

But... you know... he had a Texas accent and didn't make them think too hard.

It's a kind of narcissism: he seems to be like me, so he must be good for the job.  Yet, one of the US presidents that did the most for working-class americans (FDR) came from one of the wealthiest and oldest families in New York State.
