I don't often have the opportunity of saying nice things about the country of my birth...

But this is nice: The little nation that could go green - and is

10 millions inhabitants, a surface smaller than that of Nova Scotia, and much poorer than either the US or Canada.  Yet, 42% of their energy comes from renewable sources.

I say we shouldn't start a new topic until we finish our old ones.

Think of all the intellectually starved people who don't have ANY topics, Dan.

You have the wisdom of solemn men.

the wisdom of solomon runs deep.  like my jimmy.

"Thy stature is like a palm tree, and thy breasts to clusters of grapes.
I said, I will go up to the palm tree, I will take hold of the boughs thereof"

song of solomon 7:7-8

Last night at Dragoon practice we finally started learning Impress Me..  I don't know if you recall but that was a song that we recorded just for a soundcheck but it ended up sounding semi-rehearsed/written. Bobby threw some vocals on it and voila!  Dragoon song.  the drawback is then having to learn what you pulled out of your ass.
So I recently acquired a big dry-erase board and we put it up in the room. We wrote out all the lyrics with color-coded annotations for varius things and yep, we finally started getting it.
I had been thinking we'd have to deconstruct it completely and in fact we were working on a pretty nifty mellow version of the song.  But now  i think we can pull off a pretty good rendition.
That is, as long as we're reading it off a dry-erase board.

That might be the Dragoon song that most often gets caught in my head. "Snide-ass attitude..." that weird, succinct Beatle-esque bridge (buy a sitar already), the doubled up vocals (they sound doubled up), what sounds like a second guitar (I don't know how people can sing and play guitar), the slight variations on drums themes (it's like the entire song is comprised of fills), the fuzzy bass with many arms pulling it all together...it's just so sweet. And "raw", I guess.

yeah, it's all fills.   What I like is that Stan changes a second after I do. I'm just changing on all the 4s and 8s. But when I go Stan has a brief moment of disorientation. Thats where you get the weird shit that you can't get from 'writing' it. I love that shit.

We can do this with or without your snide-ass attituwde...but not without the dry erase board.

I love when Bobby sounds like he's singing out of the side of his mouth (ie. "attituwde").

Dobson "God's perfect will be done on November the 4th."

Dobson: We had 430 people here for the weekend and they prayed for the entire weekend. It was not a political event but we were sure asking for God's intervention.

Palin: Well, it is that intercession that is so needed and so greatly appreciated. And I can feel it too, Dr. Dobson; I can feel the power of prayer and that strength that is provided through our prayer warriors across this nation, and I so appreciate it.
