what is  memphis college of art's reputation like? got any idea? i'm thinking about getting my master's so i can get better jobs.

MCA has an excellent reputation.  Y'know, Amy "My Dad was President" Carter attended MCA.

Here's wikipedia's info.

I took some 'AP' classes there when I was in high school. When it was called the Art Academy. It's a great school.  They have really cool dorms too.

I think Pat and Kim would feel pretty at home in the Cooper-Young district in Memphis.

Sad to go so far from the ocean, though.

I guess it has been a while since I've been in Memphis. And my feel for what constitutes a reasonable price is all out of wack from being in Chicago. ($240k for a 1 BR condo on the far north side of Chicago with only a 1 hour train ride to the city? Good buy! Thank god the 'burbs are cheaper. Though I could buy an actual house in the city of Memphis for what it's costing us to buy a townhouse in the 'burbs here...)

Where do cool young people with real jobs but only a little money live in the city these days?
