Hey I just got an awesome DVD in the mail from Matt today.

Human Highway...directed by & starring Neil Young.

DEVO's in it too.

This movie is awesome.  Terrific art direction.  Goofy funny and very cool.

Thanks, Matt!

Hey, I used the right address!

This might also interest you, Mr. Substitute:

Tomorrow night on PBS:

SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 7
THE WHO AT KILBURN 1977

9:30 pm
Never before released, this is the digitally restored and remastered video of a concert the band gave in North London.

On December 15, 1977, after a hiatus of over a year, The Who assembled at the Gaumont State Theatre in Kilburn, North London to record a concert for Jeff Stein's documentary film "The Kids Are Alright." Shot before a select invited audience, it would turn out to be Keith Moon's last but one live performance. This concert has never been released, and has since been digitally restored and remastered.

Rated TVPG, Closed Captioned, In Stereo

Our pal Mr. Aronofsky just won the Golden Lion (top prize) at the Venice Film Fest for a movie called "The Wrestler" starring Mickey Rourke.

Everybody's talking about Rourke's performance, saying he would've won best actor if it weren't against the rules for a movie to win more than one award in Venice.

Major Oscar buzz for Rourke.  Supposedly it's very autobiographical, drawing on his experience as a boxer.

Is it possible that Aronofsky actually made a GOOD movie for a change?

During his 7 bout professional career, Rourke's record was 6-0-1...but his face got fucked up and his brain got damaged.

Plastic surgery could only do so much.

maybe it's just Mickey Rourke who made it good, not Aronofsky?

I got my DVD from Matt, too, though haven't yet watched. THANKS, MATT!

Still waiting for my CD from Alan...

The E-Talk party last night was horrid. Got there at 9:30 and it was packed -- like, people smashing into you constantly kinda packed, and it took forever to wend our way through crowds to get anywhere, and almost as long to get a drink (so we each got two at once). Almost everyone was in the young 20s. Missed P Diddy (which I'm a-ok with) and the DJ (LiLo's kissing friend, Sam whatever) was terrible. It was like a rave, only worse. Ran into some clients and some co-workers -- finally found an outside deck on the 2nd floor (also packed -- apparently the VIP room on the 3rd floor was reasonable), had a smoke, downed the two drinks...and left, pronto.

Well, as pronto as we could move in all that human mess. Ugh.

We promptly cabbed over to a bar near my house and actually had a good time. And drinks only took seconds to get!

Got home around 1am and poured myself a straight vodka. Not my brightest moment...that turned out to be the one "extra" I didn't need, and today felt yuck.

Today I went to a cast/crew screening of Flash of Genius this aft, did some groceries on the way home, settled in with some client series treatments...and fell asleep.

Gawd, I love TIFF.

Looking forward to the CFC BBQ tomorrow aft, though. So no Miller Time for me tonight... but tomorrow? Lookout free Grey Goose!
