Speaking of Palins.

While looking for song "Finland", a song by Michael Palin which only ever appeared on one of the few Monty Python records released, I stumbled upon this tech consultant guy inadvertently invoking the spirit of David Brent.

It's such a fucking weird choice that I can't help thinking that the repugs are going to pull something dastardly.  The timing of the announcement (right after the dem. con.) was obviously chosen in order to undermine the dems...  I dunno, maybe she'll renounce veepeedom at the repug convention, paving the way for the mormon scientologist or something. 

Then again, it's entirely possible, even probable, that she's on the ticket solely to pander to the religious right...

I drove to Dallass and hung oot with Karen, Pogo, and one of Pogo's cool friends. I drank too much, but still managed to get home safely. I know I'm gonna feel like hell tomorrow.

The more I think about Sarah Palin, the more annoyed I get. You just wanna say, "Look John, there's a chance you may actually win this election, and there's a chance you may die while in office. Is this really the best person you could come up with to make sure the country is in - what you would consider to be - capable hands in case you die while in office? Honestly?"

my staunch-hillary-supporter-mother-in-law pointed out this evening that Palin will turn off more republican male voters than garner hillary exiles.
I think  she's probably right.

btw, she's on board with Obama now. She seemed to attribute it to Bill Clinton's speech.

she was less impressed with Obama's speech.
