I no longer love the Daily Show (kidding, I never did) and I cannot remember the last time I did. I tuned out when they dropped even the pretense of impartiality and became another loudspeaker for Obama and the DNC. APPALLING. There was also a simultaneous drive to the right in a blatant attempt to curry favour with the swing-type voters, making the show seem more aimed at people with common sense than just leftwing college students who love killing babies, sodomy, every religion except Islam and hate the military.

This was around the time that the humour-free ape Rob Riggle began his little pro-military (war) jaunt through the mid-east. It was if a bunch of weak-willed NYC liberals threw up their arms and said, SEE, WE CAN PLAY POLITICS, TOO! WE TOO CAN PRETEND TO REALLY HAVE THE TROOPS' WELL-BEING AT HEART! VOTE NEOLIBERALISM TODAY, VOTE FOR THE GUY WHO DREW UP THE LIES THAT WE CAN GET BEHIND.

The clip where Riggle speaks to activists protesting the Marine recruitment centers in the universities is apparently the most popular/viewed clip of the last year of episodes. When they complained to him that their protest had been shut down and that their free speech had been quashed, he laid on them with the sarcasm of "There should be some sort of organization that swears to defend and uphold freedom." WINK! Riggle means THE U.S. MARINE CORPS...yay for American "liberals" who continue to sell out the word for imagined political expediency.

I am sick and FUCKING TIRED of hearing Obama supporters try and out PATRIOTIZE, CHAUVINISE, MILITARIZE the far right.

I HATE THE FUCKING MILITARY AND HAVE NO USE FOR FLAGS OR NATIONALISM. FUCKING P E R I O D. Stop writing this shit about John Kerry and Wesley Clark being "real war heroes". I am not sure what is more insane, that anyone would describe Kerry as a hero or that anyone could imagine that there was something to gain from dividing "war heroes" along partisan lines.

I had to stop reading posts on the political message boards because they pushing me in the direction of wanting to vote for McCain in a desperate and foolish attempt to punish everyone for perpetuating this sorry state of affairs.

The election itself is not very important at all and people must remind themselves that there is a reason for them to WANT US TO BELIEVE that democracy is casting a ballot every couple of years.
