He's just one guy, for sure. And one with scattershot taste at that. I posted that link to his review because, for now, his and Gibbons' are the only reviews there are.

I'm still concerned Snyder took the replicating panels thing to the point of fetish, but I'll be waiting in line on opening weekend hoping I'm wrong.

Sure, but I would have to meet you there, as my passport still won't be good to pass through the U.S. Call Me

at the end of the day, it's just some jack-ass's interpretation of a comic book.

We already know it CAN'T surpass the original. But Shakespeare's been adapted, Sherlock Holmes, everything.

who cares really? I'll go see it cause I loved the comic and I want to be able to rag on it with authority.

I think my problem with Russell Crowe playing Bill Hicks is that Bill Hicks probably would've shit on the idea.

Yeah, you're totally right. But then the whole idea of his life as a Hollywood biopic would probably have revolted him.

You ever read that bio about him, American Scream? It's overly fawning in tone, but it does fill in the details of his life really well.

One of the things people don't realize is how his new age/mind expanding obsessions probably shortened his life. He had searing pain in his gut for a long time and wrote it off as "spiritual" pain, only to find out later that it was pancreatic cancer eating him alive. He would have died anyway, but he effectively missed his chance to treat it and prolong his life.

It hurts, too, because any extra time we could have gotten with him would have been a gift.

The really weird part of Crowe as hicks would be that Crowe is 15 years+ older now than Hicks was when he died.

Though that never stopped Hollywood before.

I have to admit. Russell Crowe's not a terrible actor.  He just seems like an asshole.  maybe it's just his austrailianess.

And somewhere in Hollywood right now, an exec is listening to a pitch about a Hicks movie and his only question is:

"Will there be titty?"
