It rained all day here yesterday and I was in a bummy (read: hangover depression) mood, as I mentioned. Bah. So just watched New York Doll, and then all of season 2 of Extras, which raised my spirits immensely. (As I also mentioned.)
Today, pulled some weeds from the front yard (not code!), got some groceries (just before the next torrential downpour hit...whew!), read a script for work, and made some grub for the week ahead: a curried tofu salad (I just substituted tofu in a cold chicken salad recipe) and an Italian/tomato lentil stew thingy adding some basil and oregano and swiss chard from my "garden" (i.e. the potted plants on my deck). Yummers.
And, you know, drinking.
I feel increasingly boring as the days go on... Maybe I'll do the NY Times crossword puzzle next.
Damn! She can cook, too!

In addition to what? Drinking? Being obnoxious? (Not mutually exclusive.)

I also did a load of laundry today, so I'm obviously really rockin' the weekend.

Sunday night and I just checked my work email (I know:
), and just had the
weirdest
interview request ever... Some guy in NYC requested an interview (for a Chicago radio station)
for Monday morning, mind you
, with Jay McInerney. We do not represent him, and never have (just checked IMDB Pro and he's repped by ICM, which makes sense), and I have no clue how I was specifically targeted. Dude requesting this had my work email address (which isn't really public) and everything, and correct spelling of my last name, etc. So weird.
Nearest I can figure is that one of our writers story edited the feature film adaptation of Story of My Life, and put that item in her resume at Inktip.com (and I am her contact there). But, still.
Not that he's working much these days, but I would probably be better off financially if we repped Jay McInerney.

Coming March 9th: our first kid. Matilda is just shy of 3 months pregnant now and her latest checkup Friday went well. So after talking it over this morning, we decided it was safe enough to start spreading the word.
Holy damn!
Congratulations!

There was a huge propane explosion in a northern 'burb of Toronto in the wee hours this morning (they even reported on it in
Buffalo
, and that's, like, America, so you know it's big
)
Here are some pix.
And here's a link to the story.
(With video clips taken by area residents if you scroll down to the right.)
As of now, many residents/evacuees are still unable to return home (approx. 13,000 were evacuated originally, last I heard, though it could now be estimated at more... or less), and parts of Hwy. 401 (major commuter route) are still closed. One firefighter died (though that's believed to be from a heart attack).

It's nowhere near where I live.
And it doesn't warrant the winking smiley in the last post, I know. (That was more a nod to the usual lack of American coverage of Canadian news stories. Like the gruesome Manitoba bus murder, which even my Canadian friend living in Chicago didn't hear about.)

I've heard alllllllllllll about the Manitoba bus murder. Cripes, that one was bad. Some guy just minding his own business, listening to his iPod on a bus trip and he gets decapitated then eaten by an insane bastard, all in a manner of minutes? That one is the stuff of nightmares.
But then, I get my news via the net rather than tv, so if anything, it's the local stuff I'm ignorant about.

Watching the BBC's
Primeval
right now... I am having trouble paying attention, but the premise--sort of
Torchwood
meets
Jurassic Park
, is promising enough.

Well, I did post stuff on that.
I don't mean all Americans, of course. And it's not to do with individuals but with the media. Yeah that bus thing was gross. I posted my own (very fictional, very improbable) bus murder story from '01 on the myspaces. (I think I mentioned.)
Aiight, lads, off to read. Swell dreams to all y'all.
