and it's not about flying.

Well, I know. Metaphors and such. I might've sent it anyway.

I'm going to stick with that Firewater song, "Black Box Recording." Not so much about flying as failure to fly/dying in a horrible crash, but it'll work.

What are you reading?

I heard about that guy.  Do you like it?

Yeah, I liked it okay. A little on the melodramatic side, but still a pretty fascinating portrait of Kabul over the last 30 years. What I've really liked reading this summer were a few books by Yasmina Khadra.

I'm reading this.

Sounds like it would be something I'd be in to, but at 900 pages, it'll probably have to wait until Christmas break or even summer 2009.

Now I feel like a douche for spending my time reading this.

Why? That sounds pretty cool.

Thanks so much for that Matthew. It's good to finally hear the Champ version of that song, though I have to admit that the Grifterized version sounds better to these ears.

I agree. PLEASE do not share the champ version.... as it sucks.

i totally disagree.

i had not heard the grifters version until crappitystock when i finally got my hands on the "that's not french" cd.   it's still growing on me.  at this point, i still prefer the champ! version.  i also love the b-side, "passing car".  as a matter of fact, that is one of my faves of all grifter(related) 7"s.  when i first got the "transfer vinyl into mp3's" capable turntable, that was among the first things that i uploaded.
