so bored of the convo about that at this point.

These are my sentiments exactly. The media jumped the shark on their coverage of the election and I would like to see people for once refuse to get sucked into another phoney outrage. I expect that this one will fade from view quickly....surely people are fed up.

And actually on my 21st birthday (which is on halloween btw)  I dropped acid then decided to be the Joker. The acid kicked in as i was staring into the mirror applying the white make-up and green hairspray.  I freaked out and washed it all off but the rest of the night my face was very pale and my hair was tinged slightly green.

so when the "she's legal now, boys." and "BOYS?" part happened, were you dressed up like the joker? you never mentioned that.  holy shit. that story's even better. (even if it was just very pale/slightly green hair as opposed to full joker action.)  when they said "BOYS?"  you shoulda started laughing hysterically.

no, but I was pale-faced and had the slightly green hair. Other than that I was wearing normal clothes.

I saw some morons on FOX going off about that New Yorker Cover and they either actually missed the point or got it and acted like they didn't.  They acted like the story WASN'T about how the right is trying to portray Obama and that this is how the New Yorker portrays them.

Which is exactly what I figured would happen.

That was how I appraised their coverage, too, but how does this explain the hysteria coming from CNN/MSNBC et al., which tend to lean towards the Democrats? For CNN it seems to keep with their standard M.O. of "hyperventilate over everything all the time", which of course is the result of the profit model of business being applied to what is theoretically a "news source". CNN makes no more advertising profit if their viewers are educated of the context that go with the 'facts', so why bother with dreary reality checks when the news can appear to be Action-Adventure/Scandal every night?
