I discovered that the fuckers I've been playing with scheduled a practice for saturday afternoon, the same day and time as my girlfriends's birthday party (which sounds like a not so subtle way of telling me they don't want my noisy ass in their band anymore since they rather sound like the wimpy gutless soft-rockers that at heart they wanna be)

Maybe you're reading into it too much.

Perhaps they just need more practice than you, since you a far superior musician to them. Perhaps they feel threatened that you are the one who will be leaving and they just need to get their shit together to impress you the next time you're all together.

i picked up Bonnie "Prince" Billy sings Greatest Palace Music last night, and it is at turns frightening and hilarious and sad and emotionally bankrupt.  it reminds me a lot of bob dylan's 1970 effort Self Portrait.  i wouldn't recommend purchase of this, but i would recommend trying to hear it if you are at all curious as to how he has rerecorded his songs.
