sorry to put a damper on the downer day, but here's something happy!
saturday was me and b___'s 2nd anniversary! we went down to the tunica riverpark to go look for snakes, but unfortunately the wetlands were flooded and the boardwalk was closed. bummer. but we did get to walk along the river and be romanticized. 'twas a lovely day!

This was only the third time they've mounted it. (once in D.C. and once in Miami). But the robot orchestra does different stuff, they've got a robot gamelan thing happening in Pittsburgh right now. http://www.lemurbots.org/index.htmlThe piece was about 15 minutes long. It came at the end of a play about the composers relationship with Hedy Lamarr in the late 30s. And how they invented frequency hopping (the basis of modern cellphone technology). Fascinating story, I was almost mad that somebody was doing a piece on it. I was briefly planning (until I heard about this) to do my next symphony about this relationship. ah well. theres lots of good stories in the world. i guess. (mad face) |
