Dead displaces Passion Of The Christ

Reuters| March 22, 2004 12:12 IST

After a three-week reign at the box office, Mel Gibson toppled himself with the sequel to the year's most controversial film, Passion Of The Christ. Dawn Of The Dead continues the story of Jesus H. Christ, this time telling the story of the resurrection of the son of God.

hey y'all! how was everyone's weekend? mine was pretty low-key. but i got "the state" on dvd, so that was pretty cool. it's not as consistently funny as i remember it being, but some of it is classic. in fact, while sitting at home last night watching it by myself, i actually did a spit-take. so that should let you know how funny the show is (and how high i was at the time).

The guy who plays the gay cop on Reno 911 has always amused me.

So I've finally gotten around to checking the "new" Shins album.  Really good.  I like it that they didn't just chicken out and make the same album over again (as so many bands do these days for their 2nd record).  They've really opened up their sonics in completely surprising ways.  Who knew James Mercer's voice could soar like that?  Wow.

So forget what I said the other day when I was complaining about no good new bands...although they're not exactly a young band.  They're probably about my age.

Maybe I can't relate to young people...
