Dear GOD! ...I knew the loss of Jeremiah Green was going to potend the end of whatever they had going. You lose a drummer that good from a trio and it's pretty safe to say you're dead in the water. Green was too integral to their sound and I knew the songwriting would suffer a major blow...I didn't forsee it being this bad though.

I hear elements that sound like the same old, same old Modest Mouse in both, and they almost carry "The Devil's Workday", but "Float On" is just fucking terrible. The production of both songs is ghastly.

On the subject of the new Modest Mouse, I've heard live MP3s of most of the songs that supposedly make up Good News For People Who Love Bad News (awful title...bad choice considering where they are at): Sitting In A Coffin, Bury Me With It, The Ocean Breeze Is Salty were all good if I remember.

I don't know what that goddawful studio production will do to them, though.
