i don't have a recipe. i assemble ingredients and prepare based on intuition and the number of diners.
and unlike pogo, i don't enter contests. and this chili is meatless.
i will divulge that it employs garlic, onions, green peppers, chili powder, as well as the obligatory noodles for the cincinnati connection, freshly grated super sharp cheddar cheese, and a chopped roma tomato dropped upon the finished pile.

and as usual, the most important ingredient in all cooking is what music you choose to have on in the kitchen while working. drinking the proper booze comes in a close second.

last night i was in the mood for something dark and strong and suitable to the shitty cold windy evening, and i pulled an old favorite from the A-F rock rack: Don't Ask Don't Tell by come.
that album sounds as good today as it did ten years ago. when i was putting it back, i opened the booklet and was reminded that they recorded part of it at Easley with doug and davis m., and then i noticed David Shouse showing up in first place on the Thank You list. and i said "whoa."

That's an appropriate selection for a dark, dank day. I'm having my monthly insomnia bouts this week... What's the appropriate music for that? Windy and Carl? Labradford? Low?

I like very spicy food, so I tend to add at least half a jalapeno pepper to the mix (the rest of the family usually protests).

William Shakespeare's will is now available to the public to read online, nearly 400 years after the playwright put quill to paper.

is anyone else in here a fan of nels cline and his distinctive soundworld?
i still haven't processed him being added to the wilco lineup, but it certainly makes me want to see them while he's in the band. that relationship won't last too long, i'm guessing.

No, but reading "Contact metamorphism and Skarn Formation at Crestmore, California" by M.J. Wiechmann nearly did. This palpitating piece of profound prose nearly made my slip into a deep, coma like stupor. Maybe I should read again.

I am! I got introduced through the Geraldine Fibbers. He's in Wilco now? Woa! maybe I should start listening to Wilco then.
