At least now he will become more openly right-wing.

I still do not see him being elected. Despite the popular myth that the concern is truly racist rednecks, it is the quiet unacknowledged prejudice of the Average American that will defeat him. People fear differences quite naturally, and some will even vote for other candidates not aware that it was the skin thing that decided it for them. If he does win, it will be close and what follows will be a most bitter affair and likely a mess single term, possibly involving assassination attempts.

In the end of it all I could care less, though I believed that Clinton had a better chance at defeating McCain and that Clinton was less likely to get more people killed. Perhaps there is chance their is a Golda Meir tucked away inside Clinton that might prove me wrong, but I have not seen evidence of it (rhetoric notwithstanding). She is a business candidate (like her husband) and I do believe she could care less about war (neglect and casual complicity in crimes against humanity is not something I excuse, but I do not see her escalating things unless she were dominated by her military advisors) and global hegemony. Obama on the other hand, speaks very much like a neoconservative and I fear he is secretly a hawk. Oh, yes, he "sorta" disagreed with the Iraq war (kinda, maybe ...not really) back in 2002, but his assurances that he was not against all war were far stronger and more confident than his lukewarm criticism of the war.

I have posted this speech, removing the couple of passages that mention George W. Bush and the current situation, on message board several times and convinced several people that it was George W. Bush or Dick Cheney or some Project for the New American Century neocon. This speech coupled with his stridently hawkish foreign policy and disturbing aggressive liberalism-styled rhetoric was front and center for me when I criticized him months ago.

As much as I am loathe to invoke the turgid tagline from a truly atrocious film....

hey kimz!!

what went wrong?  I love a good spa day.

It was just awful. The place looked like a sanitarium/women's prison. All the employees weighed about 300 pounds and they were just creepy beyond belief. And they make you get naked in get into a bathtub of boiling mineral water and you have a personal bather. I'm not a naked person and I don't feel comfortable with a "bather". I have hands and arms and I can bathe my ding dang self.

Yikes!

I once saw Spinal Tap when I was actually on tour (with boyfriend's band in Vancouver). Interesting way/time to see it...

Second bootcamp day tomorrow, bright and early. I should probably take sleeping pills soon, if I'm gonna actually try to sleep properly. Gah. (Also: I should probably quit smoking. But I reckon that can wait till after c____________ck.)

If it rains tomorrow morning (very likely given this shot of local conditions), bootcamp will be indoors. What's the fun in that? (Ok, there's no fun in any of it, but at least being outdoors is kinda refreshing.)
