Quote
He was asked to direct the car commercial, he said, but turned it down, so the ad makers took his concept. "I just have my eyes to cry," he said about that, his French accent and inflection veering toward Inspector Clouseau much more than they usually do.

What's that?

It's from a NY Times article on Michel Gondry I was reading.  That particular part referes to how Honda ripped off his White Stripes Lego video for one of their Element commercials after he declined to do it for them.

I just found the quote funny and poignant all at once.

I find that Inspector Clouseau remark about his accent a bit dumb.  Are they dressing him up as another arrogant ridiculous french guy?  They do love their stereotypes, don't they?

I almost pruned that bit.  I responded to the "I just have my eyes to cry" and thought the Clousseau comment was idiotic.

The article is very lauditory, so I don't know where that came from.  Poor writing is epidemic.

fat possum will fuck you up.

keep trying, though.

i have to get back to the late renaissance and the reformation now and see what is going on with church music.  probably a lot of stepwise melody and carefully controlled counterpoint.

as you were.

I scrolled down, and the "breast scene" was seen by the people sitting next to me. They both kept eyeing me, so I said it was in regard to a radical new method of teaching young boys. Scientific studies have shown that most boys pay closer attention if their feamle teachers teach with exposed breasts. Think they believed me?
