Friday me and Sheri saw Club Dread. i don't think I can recommend it. IF you liked Super Troopers you might like this one. It certainly made us laugh quite a bit but man it was gory. I'd say if you have a theatre in your hometown that has a reputation for packing in a lively audience then see it there on a Friday night.

Afterwards we went to Mike Brown's opening where tim and Jim from Califone played. Joey and Andy recorded it. Sounds good. The Kid was in town so 'vino did flow'.

Saturday I rearranged all our junk in the house, recorded children's songs with Joey and (bobby's wife) Virginia. You know...for kids!

Sunday, recorded more kids songs. Watched the Oscars. Which was worth it just to see Mitch and Mickey perform. I expect peter jackson will be declared Lord of New Zealand now.

finally warmed up a little bit in the north east...mid fifties...which means the snow melted...which means it was muddy. Which means one thing...go mudding. I installed a 36 inch lift kit in my civic, threw on some of those monster truck tires...put in the molly hatchet and went 4 wheeling.

Actually i put my new cd player in. My first car cd player. What a difference. Think now i need to start taking more care of my cd's though...seems they skip a bit more in the car stereo than they do at a home one.

saw seabisquit. it was good, a little long but good. I think that was the only film i saw that was nomintated.

So what sort of kids music did you do? We have some good stuff that the kids like and is actually adult listenable...along with the kid's stuff my 4 year old is digging the beatles, audioslave (or dinosaur music as he calls it) and springsteen. I dig that, since at his age i think i was listening to the village people and shawn cassidy.

He also was digging the song that comes on after Hey Ya, but i had to cut that off when  i heard the part about "i know you think that your shit don't stink"...didn't think that would be good singing in pre-school.

Virginia works with a troupe called Voices of the South and they are putting on a show that (I think) they'll perform at a local theatre and they'll sell tickets to elementary schools. Virginia wrote all the songs and they're all about best friends and going to the zoo and brushing your teeth. Very cute. I'm mr. session-bassist. It's a nice diversion.

sounds cool. There's this group that has holds these classes in the city for kids, Music for ardvarks (Capt you ever hear of it?) Our friend has taken their kid to them and is having them come to the kid's birthday party. That should be fun. Some of it's really good. They really rock out on a few numbers.

So i finally got a copy of Nevermind. I used to have an old tape of it on a 60 minute cassette...think a minute or two of it was taped over from accidently hitting record. horrible sound. So i final plopped down 9.99 on itunes and got it...along with heart shaped box and you know your right to fill out the mix. I still love that album...pretty much every song. Funny how you don't listen to something for so long and then you wonder why.

I had this wacky dream last night. I remember leaving somebody's house and walking down this path that was next to a lake. Everything was snowcovered and pretty. And all along the path were these giant egg mcmuffin sandwiches. It looked like a pacman game.

I remember thinking, "you'd better write this down" and i think i actually did write it down...but it was in my dream.

can i just say that i love the califone guys? can i just say that? thanks.

no really, the show on friday was really nice. it was cool to actually "get out" for once. and having the kid there made it even funnerer! saturday we went and had lunch with tim and jim and their entourage of 3 (including tim's way, way awesome girlfriend). we all threw down on some delicious mempho barbeque and it was good.

after that, jason and i decided to go up to nashville to see fred armisen's stand up at a club there. we took sheri along for the ride, too- great fun! we made up mad libs most of the way up. (i should post some of them) then, we finally got to nashville where fred proceeded to perform for, like, 40 minutes tops, half of which was video taped stuff. ehh...a bit disappointing, but he was still quite funny. and he was so so so nice when we talked to him after the show. he asked what he could do to make up for us driving all the way up there to see him. jason was totally about to suggest oral sex, but i covered his mouth just in time, then we got the hell outta there. good times.

yesterday, a bottle threw up on my lunch and that was about all that was noteworthy about that day.

"FAGOTTY HOBBITS!"

Gee whiz Dan Mr.Rosa, I thought you'd behind the cause of homoerotic archer elves everywhere. They have a right to meaningless trophies as well, you know.

I can't stand Elves.  I'm prejudiced against Elvish people.  You might even say that I harbour racist feelings against them.  Hate Elves.  They bug me. It's because they're so perfect and imortal and noble and don't get acne and don't have to go to the bathroom.  Fucking elves.
