it was common among the ancients
well, then, if it was good enough for the ancients, it's good enough for me.
i want the whole fucking world to know just how penitent i can get. yo, check me out! i'm a sinner! that's right, i've been sinning away like nobody's dirty business, but this morning it's all good thanks to this dirty touch some priest laid on me.

well, I overslept. Otherwise the topic might have been
'We're here. we're queer. And now we know just how homophobic America is.'
yeah, it doesn't rhyme.

playing in the dirt.
I've been too busy to wake up posting. I hate being busy. It goes against everything I
stand for
lay around for.

yeah, shelley and i have been talking lately aboot how all of these gay weddings are undermining the strength of our marriage. i think we'll most likely be divorced before the year is over if it keeps up at this pace.

I love that they all want to "uphold the sanctity of marriage"
yeah...we have the starter marriage, people like larry king married what, 8 times. T.V. shows about people getting married to total strangers...
please...what sanctity?
I can't wait for those vicious divorce trials
There's going to be a whole lot of bitchiness being thrown around!

On Larry King (not that I watch it) they had the accesible gay guy vs the southern bible thumper. the SBT's argument as to why he knows he's right is that the bible says 'We are all sanctified in the blood of the Lord'. Thats right Cletus, WE are ALL sanctified. It doesn't say 'except for faggots'.
But, maybe this will get a dialogue going about getting God out of the Law.
But mostly I'm just pissed at MOTHER-FUCKING BUSH for pulling the pin on this grenade and lobbing out here in the real world. We'll all debate it endlessly, and one side will shout the other down and nothing will ever be decided and meanwhile the news will continue to ignore the administration's daily crimes.
So yeah, expect to see a lot of flamboyantly gay dudes and mannish lesbians vs piggy-faced jesus freaks (the freakier the better).
Of course, gay marriage is just going to make way for polygamy and beastiality. So hell yeah, I'm gonna marry me 12 pigs!!

"uphold the sanctity of marriage"
"uphold the sanctity of marriage" = "withhold benefits & tax breaks"

Ash Wednesday anecdote:
My mother is not a religious person and doesn't have a lot of knowledge of ridiculous religious dogma and such...
Well, her second husband was raised catholic and his mother was in a catholic nursing home. Mom went over to see the mother on Ash Wednesday and was puzzled by the "dirt" on the mother's forehead and washed it off.

It's okay to be happy if you're a catholic, Jesse...just as long as you don't feel good about it.
