Hey, Bammers, have you seen the commercial(s?) that Odenkirk is doing for Miller?

For those who haven't, basically he starts railing against Budweiser for being the "King of Beers" in a democratic country and is holding a political convention for Miller, which is running for the "President of Beers."

It sounds much funnier than it actually is...

I was watching the Final Four with my family and it came on...and don't you hate that asshole who turns up the volume and shushes everybody for the commercials?  Well, I was that asshole when that commercial came on and Bob really hung me out to dry when he didn't live up to my billing.

In other Bamah-related news, HBO Comedy aired the last  2 episodes of season 4 last night.  *sniff*

"Earthshoes" about made me pee Sabamah's pants.  I disagree with Tripp.  I think it was an extremely good season.

damn, i had the same idea for a commercial a few years back..excpet it was sort of like the bud bowl...with the bottles...bud would be king and then sam adams would get all the indie beers to rise up against it's tyranny...and there would be a big battle, ala braveheart with beer bottles.

I have it written down somewhere...probably on my old computer that crashed...ugh.

damn, why don't i ever follow through with my ideas.

Well, the concept was there, very Odenkirk.  But then the smile just melted off my face as he failed to build on it.  It completely lacked his trademark mixture of absurdism & logic that just keeps mounting.

Well, I don't know what I'm expecting from a commercial.   Undecided

Anyway, watch the championship game tonight and you'll probably see it again...and maybe a follow-up spot.  It looks like it's going to be a "series," so maybe it'll get better.

i know! it was on tv and i was watching it with a couple of girlfriends, but we were talking about boys and stuff and i kept trying to get out of the conversation and watch it but the pull of the conversation was too strong. all i kept seeing was bob making the big, exagerrated hand gestures and it was making me laugh mid-sentence. guess i'm just going to have to wait 'til the dvd comes out. (fuck!)

What about the Brian Wilson guy he was doing.  "Willips (something)"  He had to sing out of the side of his mouth because of Herpes sores.  Cruel...and funny.

Did you see Van Hammersly's tombstone in the graveyard?

oh god yeah- we watched that part. "the 24th annual song awards". that was so cruel, but i was dying. and david cross's character in that was so dead on- it was great. i loved the varying goatees he was sporting.

and i didn't catch van hammersly's tombstone. bamah hath been out-geeked.

Van Hammersly seems to be Bob's favorite made-up name, but I personally prefer "Brick Sprickly."

Oh no no.  Me too.  I've watched it repeatedly.

I just meant he has this strange attachment to the name.  He used it in "Manson" for the Ben Stiller Show too.

Well, I mean, I've had sex with Bob and you haven't, so you can see how I might know more about him.
