I been listening to a bit of the lizard myself lately. it's the tone, man.

you know what though, S. Malkmus' new record ain't bad! I had sort of stopped paying attention to him a long time ago, but i heard some of it and like it enough to buy it. Then I went to see him play last week and he pretty much kicked ass! Long ass improvised jams in the songs, but good!

yes, they are playing again. they were asked to do the All Tomorrow's Parties, and that led to them getting back together. Their old drummer Eddie told me it's a full on reunion, gonna do a record and all that. He's not playing with them anymore, he's got a family and can't participate on the level they're looking to be on.

Tripp, I will get a show set up for here and one in Houston at some point. I will give you lots and lots of notice and you'll come out here and play and it will be a great time.

 Just a show in Houston could be cool.. Like I said I got family there..  Maybe more of a Houston Dallas thing cuase then I could get my ole peeps from jetty Webb to help us out.  They're all in Dallas.

What's Sad Like Crazy's plans these days?  Squeezing in shows between the rest of your lives?

Yeah that's about it. It's nice to get about 2 shows a month in, gives me something to look forward to. We practice on Saturdays, and once during the week if we have a show or are working on songs or something. It's nice. The new songs we have so far are a lot louder and more powerful, as this is the first time we have had a drummer who could really play. in the past, we always had someone who could just keep a beat. On the last cd, we didn't even have a drummer, me and Thane played all the drums. The guy we have now (Tim) is great. It's a whole new thing, the way it's going.

2 shows a month is great..! I usually shoot for one show a month and hope that I can fill in the gap somewhere.


Good drummers are hard to find.  Sounds like yer having fun though. Which is the point.

Now, I can get a Houston show any time. And people will come to it. We have a show at Rudyard's on Saturday, May 31st. One other band is on the bill, there was a third but they cancelled. You want to be on that one, you say the word and you are on it. so come on... say the word! check with your boys!

but yeah, let's do a Houston/Dallas thing cause Dallas is more on the way back to memphis than Austin..

I think the earliest we could pull off a texas tour would be mid-late july..  which is always the most temperate time of the year to go to tejas.

New Orleans is about 350 miles from Houston. Denton is about 5 hours from Houston. We used to play there at Rubber Gloves. I could probably get something there. Plus, Ryan's band plays out around Dallas now. We could ride his coat tails straight to the top!

Yes, Denton>Dallas.  Dallas sucks.

I want to bring you guys here, though. It will happen at some point. There are some great places here that weren't here a few years ago. We have had 3 shows here since we started back, 2 of them were really cool. The Mohawk is probably my favorite bar in the country now. That's where I want to bring you guys to play with us. They gave us a wednesday night to headline, and we had like 20 of our friends and a few curious people there. But it was a good night, the bar didn't even expect that much. So, I figure we get ourselves on a few opening slots and then we can get another show where we bring Dragoon down for some serious shit!
