Aaron is quite the auteur!

The thing I love about the Backyard Adventures (or BYAs as people in the know call them) is that they manage to be several things at once: quirky kid fun, evidence of precocious young minds of which mom & dad can be proud, and yet, they're also going to be ace blackmail material to get Eli & Aaron to do pretty much anything you ask once they start dating. Then by the time they outgrow their "everything that ever happened to me is embarrassing" phase, they can be proud of 'em again.

Bravo! I hope it ends up a trilogy!

I was looking for a picture of an Oscar to award our favorite filmmaking tykes and instead I found this:

Oscar De la Hoya in drag. Apparently, one of the kings of boxing is actually a queen. Go figure. At least we can say with a high degree of certainty that he's not going to get beaten up over it.

Thanks for the Oscar!

I think my favorite part of the sequel was Aaron's eschewing the typical action movie rhythm by opening with an uneventful nap.   There's just nowhere to go from there, but up.

I just won this 1962 Young People's Concert book (comes with 5 7"s) on eBay.

Until I can find a copy of the DVD boxset for less than $100, this'll be a good start.
