I think if the super-delegates give it to Hillary  then ALL these people who have given Obama the popular vote just won't vote in November which could hand the victory to McCain.
On the other hand I kinda think the GOP doesn't want to win this one. I think they're thinking " here's your historic presidency, now clean this shit up!"
I think we need to do something about the news media. They're pieces of shit is what they are.

I too imagine a massive backlash against the DNC if the nominee is Clinton. I believe the Democratic Party could kiss "black votes", which they take for granted, goodbye for good. I do not see these people moving to the RNC, I see them disenfranchised. Which might be just as well seeing as they are anyway. The system that prevents viable third parties from challenging the binopoly (sic) of power in America is simply incredible.

I no longer believe the Republicans wish to dispense with control of the nation (though I do believe they will find peace with either outcome - they will likely regain control of congress either way); they seem to have lined up all the rails for the transfer and seem intent on going to war with Iran. This is not to say everything would be peachy with Obama in power: he has been quite Republican in his manipulation and provocation with Iran (he seems intent on pursuing the very same strategy of Bush's which has caused the nuclear arms proliferation and he has buried his head in the ass of the far right Israel lobby). I have no idea what Clinton's stance is, but I doubt it differs noticeably.

As for the media...well, my avatar a couple weeks ago reflected my disgust: (that was an actual "news item" for Mrs. Anticipatory Self-Defense herself)

Seriously... what happened to that story?

How about this one: http://www.usvetdsp.com/smith_mc.htm (this site is crackpot central)

I recently watched a DVD of Elvis Costello live (it was a show recorded not long ago), and it kept me very much unrocked.  But I'm not a big fan... And I don't think I'll ever be a big fan of Elvis C.  I like some songs.  Most leave me cold.

that's alright.  you like French Pop!

And you like the 80s incarnation of the Rolling Stones!

(1989 was the time for the nineties to begin)

(I find it strange that this was recorded in the same month as Neil's Rockin' in the Free World)

when i saw elvis in new orleans a few years ago, (and andre williams the same night immediately after at the club across the street)BTL was playing in tallahassee the next day.  so k__ and i drove straight from n.o. to tally.  when i told dave we had seen elvis the night before, he said they were opening for him at memphis in may a couple weeks later or something.

Goddamn, I would kill to see Andre Williams.

Wait, was he any good?

La Clinton won, but by less than 10%, and by using fear mongering tactics.  I think she's screwed.

ummm, i guess tattoo you (which is great) came out in 1980 or something, but i can maybe think of 3 songs from the other 80's records (under cover, dirty work, and steel wheels) that i can stand.  i actually prefer the most recent 3 studio records (voodoo lounge, bridges to babylon, and a bigger bang) to the 80's stuff.  i can probably think of 10 songs off of those three that i can stand.  6-7 that i actually like!

Uh, Pat, I was, like, ribbing you...

yeah, i know.  but i had to set the record straight so nobody actually believed that slander!!  also, i was ribbing you too about the french pop! (and More French Pop!)   or maybe just dumping water on the festivities...

I'd never heard they opened up for him. But what do I know?
at the time, i kinda figured "opening" merely meant playing on the same stage/same day, prior to.  in which about 10 bands could make the same claim at something like memphis in may.  i just wondered if bamah could clarify.

incredible, really.  surreal.   the first time i saw him was opening for blues explosion, with the compulsive gamblers, in a place called the rubb in ybor city (tampa).  i'm sure the capt knows the place.  he had high school girls peeling off their clothes. and amazingly, the show in new orleans (at the lounge lizard, a katrina casualty, unfortunately- he rented the apt. upstairs and played there quite regularly) was even better. he seemed to be in his element that night, being the headliner and with what appeared to be a lot of friends.  i don't even know who his band was.  maybe the dirtbombs.    i think he's about to put out a new record with morning 40 federation, a n.o. band that plays sluggo's pretty regularly.  kind of in the same vein as man man, but more horns, and alot more of a new orleans sound. not a big fan, but it should be interesting.  and if he's touring with them, i will get his ass to sluggo's.

Did you listen to the More French Pop links I put up?  It was kind of a joke, as none of the bands were actually "pop".
