Hi, all.

I awoke to a rainy day. And I had such big plans today, too.

I started reading The Cube And The Cathedral. Basically it's this dude saying that the reason Europe was involved in 2 world wars is because they forgot about God, and that the seculaization of the U.S. will inevitably lead to big big problems. Can't say I totally agree, but his argument is interesting, and he's a good writer. My summary doesn't come near to explaining the book, but you guys won't ever read it, so what does it matter?

This Reverend Wright thing is a rather roundabout manner to attack the color of Obama's skin. They can claim that it raises concerns about his allegiance to America and all that, but it is really about Fearing the Blacks.

this is the first time obama has really "disappointed" me.  and not because of the things that reverend wright has said.    reverend wright has not said anything that is not true.  yes, 9/11 was a response to american imperialism, superiorism, and generally horrible, selfish foreign policy for countless years.  recognizing that is actually a good thing.  mccain has a pocket full of supporters who ALSO think 9/11 was america's fault, except THEY think it's because of all the homos and whatnot. and god's wrath. but no one seems to care about that.  and "white, corporate america" is NOT a racist statement.  it's the damn truth and what democrats have been saying for 40 years. it's supposed to be part of the democratic platform. why is it now a racist statement?  and no, hillary has never been called a nigger.  until now.  HILLARY, IF YOU ARE LISTENING...  YOU ARE A NIGGER!  NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER NIGGER!

obama is wrong to back away from these statements.  he needs to embrace them.  rev. wright has not said anything that most of us have not been thinking already.  and black people have known for ever. obama is supposed to make an important speech concerning race relations today. i'm very interested to see how he handles this.

Hope you're listening.   He's not backing away from Wright, just some of his opinions.   He's doing a very nice job.  He's giving the audience a lot more credit than most politicians.
