Yep, this is what I was talking about when I said that he would promise the progressive left nothing concrete until the general election, where the words "while in an ideal world...", "realistically", "unfortunately reality dictates that..." would be heard, completely diffusing all of what his previous rhetoric had only suggested.

If elected Obama is going to disappoint his fans from the left/progressive movement/etc. Each time I hear him speak I wonder what the attraction is. He speaks and sounds like a moderate Republican (like Bill Clinton) and is promising NOTHING to the left, and is sculpting his platform (which stands FAR BEHIND his EMPTY RHETORIC) for appeal to THE RIGHT. If he is nominated you can kiss most of his "rock star appeal" goodbye and you will be hearing a different tune from The Skinny Kid. This populist fluff simply will not float outside the walls of the DNC primary. Obama is a keen manipulator, but a gross fraud (for anyone left of far right) and I am simply shocked by the cult that has formed around him. Shocked not by its zealotry, but by its composition. Obama will move the Democrats (who are already quite a distance over the centerline) even further to the right. I wonder how long it will take anyone to realize.
