I just opened my suitcase and noticed the TSA randomly checked it. Luckily, I'd declared the two bottles of Tito's vodka with customs that I had in there.

I personally loved the 'do.  He looked like a Gilbert Hernandez character.

Latest developments:

1) an error a clerk made while taking down M_____'s credit card number caused them not to process her travel pass request when she filed it last week. It went though today, but even with her paying extra to get it FedEx'd, it's 50/50 she'll get it before she leaves, and if she doesn't get it stamped on the way out, it's useless.
2) changing her name when she got married may require M_____ to get a new passport while she is in Romania. Required wait time? 3 months.

It is looking increasingly likely that in order for her to see her father one last time, M_____ is going to run the risk of being trapped there for an extended time, either because of the passport thing or because she is forced to go without a travel pass, in which case, the $1100 we spent on her permanent resident card app is forfeit and I'd have to get lawyers to bring her in via a spouse visa (which can take six months or longer) and then start the entire process again...

I am scared shitless, but trying hard to stay positive.

You just have to keep faith that it'll all work out, because it will.  More time, more pain in the ass, more money, but you'll get her back in.

The most important thing is getting her over there ASAP.  The rest you'll work out later.

I don't know how helpful that is.

I had an amazing weekend of ...drunkenness, drinks, drinking, drugs (hot-boxing Moetown's car!), hangovers, drinking and... "napping." I'll post one of my patented overly-detailed (boring) recaps later, but for now, big ups to the always-lovely Moetown and Pogo! (couldn't have done it without you, dude Wink ) and the super-awesome Trey (and his wife, M___). I had soooooooo much fun with all y'all.

And drinks!

I just LOOOOVE me some overly-detailed "napping."

damn jef. sorry to hear how much trouble y'all are having.  just doesn't make sense. i think kurt has the right idea. just make sure she gets over there. the rest will sort itself out.     that count shit really made my day, though!   the count and oscar were my sole reason for watching sesame street back in the day. snuffleupigus was kinda cool.
