We're expecting about 10 inches of snow tonight. Gah. (It was warm enough to rain earlier in the week, and to melt the previous dump.) I'm soooooo tired of this winter already, and we still have till probably March to deal with this shit.

Sorry, I know weather's boring. I'm just being a whine-y baby. Soon to be a wine-y baby, though.

So I am supposed to start the annual detox cleanse Feb. 1 (only not exactly, cuz I'm meeting a friend for drinks on Friday, and another on Saturday AND I haven't yet
gone out to buy the appropriate no-carb, high protein grub), but this time I'll do just under 3 weeks instead of 4. Meaning Texass folk are gonna have one cheap-ass drunk on their hands come Feb. 21 I'll be so outta practice.

Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

Were you a believer as a kid?

I'm really trying to suss out if he's going to get fucked up like me and you.

Or since he's already taken a pass on god-stuff if he'll just be able to ignore that stuff.

I think that parents are the biggest influence.  If yot tell your kid that all of the religious crap is bullshit, he'll be ok.  One thing I would worry about is the quality of the teaching: they may try to pass religious dogma as science.  You should investigate the curriculum before deciding.   My Two Cents

Thanks y'all for lettin me bounce off you.   I am, frankly, embarassed to be even considering it.   There is just a perfect storm of absolutely horrific public schools and private schools that are financially out of our reach ($20K-30K per year).

I'm glad to say that A____ is such a complete nerd, that we do tons of extracurricular lurnin' anyway.   His favorite game is devouring one of his science books, then setting up a museum exhibition in his room and playing docent.

If we do get trapped into this catholic school (which actually has a very good reputation for teaching the basics) I reckon I'll just keep that stuff up to keep him intellectually on his toes.

And deprogram him nightly.
