Freaks and Geeks update

...

Last summer we told you that the campaign to get the TV show Freaks and Geeks (where Josh "J. Elvis" Weinstein was a producer and where Trace Beaulieu and Joel Hodgson made appearances) onto DVD had been successful. This week details of the set were released: It will come out as a six-disk set on April 6th from Shout! Factory and DreamWorks Television.

It will contain all 18 episodes, including three that never aired on broadcast TV. The original music will be preserved and there will be more than 40 hours of bonus material, including a director's cut of the pilot episode, behind-the-scenes footage, deleted scenes, outtakes, alternate cuts, blooper reels and a whopping 28 audio commentaries by the actors, directors, network executives, crew members, obsessive fans, and even parents of cast members. Josh was among them, offering commentary on the episode "Beers and Weirs."

i'm not sure...it's not the "day o song" or bananna song...

my son was singing this song yesterday...think he heard it at school.

I said "what the hell are they teaching you there?...now repeat after me,  'will the real slim shaddy please stand up...please stand up...please stand up'

Tripp,

Megan just asked for yr email, hope you don't mind I gave it.

Actually now that I think about Megan's love of chain letters, maybe I really should've asked first.

(shrug) ah well, not my problem.

found it...it's an old american folk song...

Did you ever go to meetin', Uncle Joe, Uncle Joe?
Did you ever go to meetin', Uncle Joe?
Did you ever go to meetin', Uncle Joe, Uncle Joe?
Don't mind the weather when the wind don't blow.

Chorus:
Hop up, my baby, three in a row,
Hop up, my baby, three in a row,
Hop up, my baby, three in a row,
Don't mind the weather when the wind don't blo

so the jersey kids are singing folk songs on the playground?

that is some freakin' excellent news aboot the freaks and the geeks, tripp.  thanks.  i heard a clip on NPR yesterday of Dean using "Bad Reputation" at a NH rally and it reminded me of the injustice in the world that would allow a cancelled one-season show like Firefly to already get issued on DVD when a true classic like Freaks & Geeks still languished in licensing purgatory.
