WHAT'S EVERYBODY DOIN THIS WEEKEND?!!


tonight...2007 Member's Juried Exhibition  opening at museum from 5-7.  i have to work it, but free wine and beer while there, so not so bad.  then to our friend Jenny's house where we're supposed to drink more and play board games.  Also, at the Handlebar tonight, there's a benefit for local musician John Collins, who has been diagnosed with terminal brain cancer.  pretty shitty.  there are several bands playing, and i feel like i should attend, but i don't know.  it could be weird.  it's not like it's gonna be a party or anything.  maybe kinda depressing.  prolly skip it.  john and i are not real close or anything, but we do have a lot of mutuals.

tomorrow.  Maria (museum director) got married about a month ago, and one of our board m,embers is throwing a "summah suppah" party for her and her husband.  free food and drinks again.   tomorrow night, playing music with my friend rob.  

sunday, my neices 8th birthday party.  free cake and punch.

so a pretty event filled weekend, but i'd prefer it if i had absolutely nothing to do, i think.  i kinda hate obligations....

Tonight me and S_____ go to a birthday dinner for her dad out in east memphis (ugh).  Afterwards we may hook up with peeps for drinks.

Tomorrow day I'll probably be fine-tuning our new wireless set-up in the house (S_____'s new job kinda recommended we go wireless so now she can sit anywhere in the house and post grades and all that school stuff).  Then tomorrow night we go to Navin Gallimore's 13th birthday party crunk-fest.

Sunday we'll probably be recovering from the crunk-fest then we have band practice sunday evening.

Feeling like a fool for being talked down in my complaints re: meds. I like my psych, but I am too forthcoming (imagines Crappity sighing, "We know") and I allowed my own admission to be used against me. I explained that it is hard to know where bad feelings caused by the drug begin and bad feeling caused by being on a drug end.

While true, I am definitely feeling like shit because of the drug side effects. I also failed to make my case about my going into social hibernation & my bike riding coming to an abrupt end with the beginning of the medication.

I managed to walk away with a version of the "It's all in your head" excuse and now I am rather pissed off.

I blame the drugs. Unfortunately, this is true: I fell asleep very late the night before and only took my meds at like four A.M. When I woke up a couple of hours later I felt absolutely haggard with a drug hangover. By the time I got to his office it was just about time for my clonazepam and I while he went for his 'tween session pee break, I tried to scoff one down. Well, half of one. I lift the bottle to my lips and bite one in two. Embarrassed to be standing there looking like I was downing a pill bottle a la suicide, I rushed and the pill basically crumbled into a powder between my teeth and I got the whole thing and a mouthful of bits from other pills. Instead of a half, I got at least two full pills and was turned shitfaced half way through the session. Haven't been that 'drunk' in a long time.

I kept referring to the med by some name of another antiquated drug that he said was taken off the market decades ago. It must have been something I read about sometime.

I was coming home from the library late last night, floating in the strange fog that comes with heat and rain mist and the descent of the sun...crossing through that field in Terra Cotta (the woods near my home) where W____ and I used to spend a lot of time and...years have passed...some many years that I felt like an old man standing there. So long since I had seen her or heard her voice that I felt like a windower standing there. I thought of the trajectories of lives of those I knew and no one was as alone as I for as long as I and I wondered how it came to be this way and suddenly felt again like I was about to die. Days pass so quickly and I get older and closer to death, but the years are so long and painful. The worst of both worlds. I wonder if I will ever be better, I wonder if I will be together again before I die.

Together with who? Is there anyone who can stand me more than anyone has been able to so far? Is there anyone who will like me ever again? I sometimes wonder if anyone ever did. Or does. And what it is that makes me unable to get along with others. Why am I a malfunctioning creature? Sometimes I wonder if I am over W____. I mean, I am fully aware of how often I mention her, but I mean beyond that - I wonder if I even want to meet someone else. Everyone I meet seems to disappoint me after knowing her.

I am trying to figure out what I like about Asobi Sesku, and if it's the My Bloody Valentine bits or if it's the pop. I'm not usually big on pop.

i got free tickets to see KISS about 10 years ago, and the nuge opened up.  i wish that motherfucker would keep his mouth shut and just play guitar.  i hated the fact that i actually enjoyed his performance when he was just playing.  he's a hell of a guitar player.   the theatrics were a bit much, though.  shooting flaming arrows into his stacks and what not, and god damn does he have an obnoxious mouth.  at one point, he said , "goddammit!! look at all the pussy in this place!!  is it hot in here tonight, or what!!   it's so hot in here, even the faggots are gonna be eating pussy tonight!"  and of course the fucking crowd went nuts.   asshole.
