For some reason when I woke up this morning I was trying to calculate how many weeks I've been around. Then I realized I couldn't remember how old I am. Then I gave up.

This weekend we discovered the joys of a BBC show called 'The Office'. HI-larious. Go rent the first season (6 episodes) TODAY!

And believe it or not it was snowing in mempho this morning.

I guess I could bring the debate to the board (from my living room)

Are the English funnier than us?

(and we will take 'us' to mean Yanks and Canucks)

More people laugh at Yanks than Canucks, I'll grant you that.

I don't know if they're funnier...but maybe there humor is on a different level...it's more subtle...it's not in your face...laugh track stupid...

also it seems to me people will either have a "i love that" or "that is stupid" opinion.

Like python. Is there a middle ground? You either love the twit olympics or you don't. The Young ONes...it's brilliant...or it's garbage.

I think English comedy is just funnier to Americans because they're sick of American comedy.  So it's just new and different compared to ours and therefore seems to be higher quality.  But it just depends on the individual shows, really.  There are some really unfunny Brit shows as well.

right...
American humor is usually over the top funny like Jim Carey or it's nutty satire like the Simpsons.

Brit humor is more dry and more intelligent usually, so it just depends on what you like better.

I usually like the Brit shows, but that's partly because I don't have cable and Brit comedys on PBS are always better than network sitcoms.

i'd have to say it's smarter...Not that most americans are dumb...but just look at the 1/2 hour sitcoms that are on every night. laugh track laugh track laugh track.

you can't be readin people magazine and watching that office..you have to be paying attention to the dialouge.

so is a fish called wanda a good movie? I never saw it for some reason...but remember people raving about it.

A girl at work just lent me "Amelie" ever see that?

Also just saw bowling for columbine...enjoyed that...made me think, what is the cause of violence in america?

Saw a story of two kids stabbing another kid to death during a snowball fight.

Super.

I backed up first and then completely erased my disk and installed everything from scratch....
except for just a couple of things which I brought over from the backup, like my email settings...

and now my email is still acting screwy so that must be where the problem is...

but I don't know how to fix it.

so tripp... is there no chance of us getting our hands on a copy of Panther?

I don't know if that would fix it either.

yes, it's really good. a classic you might say.
and in it, the funniest character is played by an American actor.
