I have been practically chain-smoking the cigarettes tonight (no roomie, so I can smoke in the living room while I watch telly! woo!), so I'm sure tomorrow's hangover will be even more disgusting.

sigh.

The job w/ Josey was probably by 3rd fave one ever. The current job is dead last.

Fave job: concurrently running the studio and label, while working for an ol' folkie friend (doing his books and mail order) and booking bands at an Ottawa bar (which all together almost equaled a real person's salary). This was my medium-sized-fish-in-a-small-pond moment.

Second fave: writing about bands, art, and film for a local weekly. (I was much more articulate -- less drunk? -- and in-the-know back then than I am now. Now, I'm just out of the loop.)

Third fave: working as a web consultant trying to help small businesses with their online "presence." (I got to just surf the web all day.)

I also worked for Zellers (kinda like a Canadian Target?) in high school and Taco Bell for about 3 weeks when I was 16, and when I first moved to Ottawa, Pier 1.

That should give you an idea of how great the current gig is...

You know when you see Bela Fleck playing with Nick Cave (one of the best shows you've seen ever) and then you see him play with Steve Martin (ok, also with Tony Trischka) on Letterman? That is very weird.

I used to have a major crush on Letterman. Also weird.

It's ok guys, don't bother posting. I'll just keep rambling on, talking to myself...

Three years ago up to, say, one year ago, I would've gone out in this state of drunkenness to be with the people at one of the locals in my hood  (i.e. to pick up), but I guess I'm too shy/insecure to do that right now. Even though I have this Faye-Dunaway-at-the-end-of-the-bar-in-Bar-Fly history ahead of me. I mean, WTF? Why not?

(Disclaimer: not really. Faye Dunaway is waaaaaaaay hotter.)

To be honest, the main reason I'm not going out right now to one of my beloved locals... humidity and super-bad hair. I can't be seen like this...    Cheesy  Cheesy  Cheesy  Embarrassed  Embarrassed  Embarrassed  Undecided  Undecided  Undecided
