Went out to dinner, ate on the patio, and S_ _ _ spotted a puppy and went into rescue mode. Said puppy is now at our house.  Angry Angry

Aw, that is awfully sweet, though. You're not really mad, are ya?

So last night when we were watching the Schama art show thingy (  Cheesy ), there was a promo spot at the end for "Remember: 1976" (part of a series, apparently), that made it seem like it was gonna be some UK musical journey. They actually promo'd it as "the year the Bay City Rollers were taken over by punk" or some such.

But in reality, it was a series of highly disjointed little snippets of footage and interview (British mostly) of practically everything but music: soccer, the Olympics, the drought in England, Thatcher, Jimmy Carter, UK race riots, Angola, apartheid, Queen Elizabeth, rugby, cricket, a major forest fire, and about 60 seconds worth of music footage.

We still watched the whole hour cuz it was kinda neat seeing all this footage on what was happening in England when we were both 12 (yep) because mostly the culture/news info we got here was American oriented/slanted back then, but still... they just jumped all over the place so it was really disappointing.

Not brought to us by viewers like us.

A going back to your addiction after a "six week stint" in rehab is not a "relapse", you would be lucky to be even remotely comfortable in your skin after six weeks. A relapse occurs after you have recovered at least somewhat, not after you have kicked off immediate overpowering physical addiction and attended some classes. What a farce.

I didn't read the rest of the article because I get lost in such details and names.

Is Lohan a "music-starlet", an "actress-starlet", a "socialite-starlet" or one of those music/actress-starlets?

I don't know, but this puppy is sure cute. I didn't want to bring it home, but it's adopted me instead of S_ _ _ as her mother. She won't lick S_ _ _, but she's all over me.

So no, I'm not mad. I just knew what was gonna happen next.

so.  at staff meeting this morning our museum director announced that she has put in for her resignation.    last day is sept 30.  it is very common for new museum directors to do a complete staff cleansing. (comparable to when a new head football coach takes over a team, there's usually a new offensive coordinator, defensive coordinator, position coaches, etc. -for all you sports nuts Undecided ) so i think i'm gonna start looking for another job before i get cleansed.  boo.

they did that at the High museum in Atlanta once.

Called it a High Cholonic.

I made it all up.

I went to the High once.  Saw Starry night..nothing like seeing  a famous work of art with armed guards standing right next to it.

? I saw The Starry Night at the Met (on loan from Moma, I believe) and it was just hanging on the wall with no defenses whatsoever. I really had to stop myself from experiencing the texture.

Cause I know like you teach art classes now for kids...so you have built in fan base...am I right?

Plus you know those hot little mom's will come in with their tots and they'll be totally turned on by your art talents and they'll ask for private art lessons for their kids and when you get to their house they'll tell you their kids actually went away with their grandparents, but the mom would love to have some private art lessons herself... Wink

i've definately thought about that kind of opportunity.  since i already have 2 other jobs, it wouldn't be a huge risk.  plus i think K__  would be into it.  she's pretty talented herself.  but that might cancel out the hott mom factor.  and i do meet plenty of hott moms....

Y'all should move to Canadia with Moe and S____

Now that you mention it, it looks a lot like that fakey five o'clock shadow they put actors in old French mime theater. (big fan)

I am wasted (not drinky wasted), completely drained of energy from a day at my cousin's place up in Lachute. Drove a quad (atv) for the first time...kinda fun but hella noisy. Got to swim for a change. Very tired.

A cool Labrador retriever came by and jumped into the lake with me. He was carrying a fragment of a stick in his mouth; every bit of it except the piece inside his jawline was gone, so he ditched that and began digging underwater. He unearthed a good-sized stone and picked it up in his mouth like it was a stick. The stone was about 4-5 inches thick and like 14 inches long and 8 inches wide. Instead of clamping down on its thickness, he had it on its side wedged between rows of teeth in the top and bottom of his moutn, stretching his jaw nine or so inches. And yet he ran around as if he had a regular 'fetching stick' in his mouth. Good thing he was friendly.

The trailer for The Invasion looked good.

The one with Kidman? Advertised before Transformers? Looked like it might be of the same caliber of the American "The Ring"

And, of course I just now watched last night's Daily Show and they referenced the American version of the Ring.
