Nope.   Get perhaps the most self-indulging, gluttonous people on the planet (pop and rock stars) to promote eco-awareness in an event that, by its nature, consumes a ridiculous amount of energy, and what do you get? Too many schlock musicians assuaging their conscience, that's what!   Roll Eyes The climate change deniers are having a field day with this shit.

Besides, has a rock festival ever contributed to change anything?

Jeez, I was just wondering if anybody was impressed by any of the bands.

I don't know. I think the George Harrison Bangaladesh concert did some good.

I tried to watch a bit of it but yeah, I agree with the Dan. madonna's performance was suitably ridiculous. At one point she brought out a choir of children and I kept expecting her to start making out with them.

Neckbones were incredible last night. What i saw of them anyway. Me and jared were already pretty toasty by the time we got there. Some band was suppose to play last, after the neckbones but they got to go on 2nd, the sweet spot. And they totally overstayed their welcome. don't you hate that? Me and Jughead and many others just kept yelling NECKBONES and at one point the leas singer dude was like, 'Ok we only got two or three more". So we went back to the dresing room where a bunch of people were snorting xanax?!
But I was very touched that all the remaining Neckbones (Robby (bass) wasn't there) gave me a warm welcome.
lessee, I spilled a whole beer on myself... I saw  Frank from Blue Mountain, Pogo, uuuh, Scott Rodgers band, The Perfect Fits, were real good.
I saw the 'Bones do their cover of Bad Boy. Still rocks.
It Ain't Enough was THUMPINGly good.

I think everyone in memphis hates me.

Is that a common neurosis for people my age who smoke too much weed?

I really think people think I broke up the grifters and they hate me. Or else they hate me cause i won't reunite. Plus I have a pretty horrendous reputation as far as all the dating choices i made in my twenties/early thirties. memphis is such a close knit scene everybody knows everything about everybody.

I have the same problem, except for the fact that everyone in Memphis really does hate me...once they recollect who I was/am.

If I lived in Memphis, I wouldn't hate you. But you'd hate me like everyone else does.

Don't worry Trip, that's just perfectly normal and natural paranoia.

Went to see Sicko today.  Yup, Michael Moore is about as subtle as a 2x4 hitting upside the cranium, but he got the point across.  I did learn one thing: I thought that the US healthcare system was a piece of shit because 50 million americans are not insured... But according to the movie, it seems that many of those that are can't get decent care.  Of course, the movie mostly presented anecdotical evidence.  But what anecdotes they were!  If even a tenth of what they said happens regularly, well, I'm sorry for you guys, 'cause its truly horrible.

Oh, and by the way, just as leaving the doors unlocked is something that maybe a few canadians do, but not all canadians... Not all Canadian urgency wards will take care of you in 20 minutes.  I have had a number of unfortunate trips to the emergency ward... The waiting time varies according to the severity of your problem and how many people are waiting.    But its still better than the US system, by a long shot.

I believe my hundreds (not an exaggeration) of visits to the ERs of Montreal (while I was drinking) probably slowed down the wait times.

Apologies.

I finally figured out how to enjoy myspace. And it hasn't even involved underage boys or girls!
