(checks shorts, licks finger)

i'm pretty much glued to this here chair til august.  summer art camps start next week, you know.  i may have to be there in spirit only.  Cry

OMG, I love spirits!!!!

Also: quel drag. If it's any consolation, I doubt any of us could get organized enough to descend on Mempho on masse. I tried to get three crappiteers together last year in NYC (Capt in NY, brainfiber in NJ and Caw in Connecticut) and the only one who put in any effort was young Eric Morrison.

He's a real trooper.

I'm spending my vacation credits this year going to see Jimmy Winchell do some shows in Northern Cali. in the beginning of August.

So if anyone wants to hook up there, holler holler, mmk?

I reckon it'll be a "party".

Sorry I missed it... BUT HAPPY BIRTHDAY NOW, MATTHEW.

Man, the myspace birthday reminders are really falling short...

Ah, I just mentioned this in a PM.

I like the bus idea. Although, sans booze and accompaniment  that may prove to be even more nightmarish than last time.

Ok, Evan, Pat...what works for you guys for Memphis trip? Matt? Later June?

Why are you designating a different time for me to show up in Memphis?

well, last night me and S_____ and our friend Lea went downtown to the river. Didn't know what I expected to see really. We got down there and lemme tell you the 'Welcome Center for Visitors" certainly didn't make me feel very welcome. The homeless guys are nice enough but as it gets darker it gets a lot less 'welcoming'.
But we walked over to the river and we saw one guy down there lighting a little path of tea candles going down to the water. So we went down to meet him and he walked right up and asked if we were there for Jeff in an Australian accent.
His name was Chris and he was taking his vacation, seeing the world again. Real nice guy. Huge Jeff fan. We hung out and he said he'd never been able to find Barrister's so we took him over to where it once had been. He snapped many pictures, which I'm sure will adorn his myspace page soon enough.
As the sun went down we went back to the river and there were 2 teenage girls there who'd brought many candles of their own. So we befriended them as well and we all sat there and I regaled them with hilarious Jeff stories. It was actually pretty nice. I said I wouldn't have been surprised if there'd been a hundred people down there. Chris said he expected to see a thousand.
We took Chris to the P&H and he and I played pool and I drank a lot.
So I made a new friend.

indeed.  as often as other people are the reason life stinks,  it is also true that people are the reason life is beautiful.
