I thought that was lame-o.  As far as I'm concerned, that kind of ironic distancing act is boring, and by now, cringe inducing.  If you don't like the song, don't play it.  If you like the song and you know it sucks, then play it for yourself.  'Cause, you know, even if it is funny (not sure about that), it's only funny for about 30 seconds.

My friends and I have decided, over the past couple years, to give each other the gift of an "experience" rather than stuff (so, brunch, dinner, an evening out, whatever). We are all in our late 30s/early 40s with our own households (in whatever form), partners (some of us), busy jobs, etc., so it's actually become much more of a precious gift to be able to spend time with the person than to get things for a birthday/xmas/whatever. You know?
