Its an AC30.   Elliot Smith lent it to B_____, then died.   So it kinda makes me sad sometimes.  But its such a gorgeous amp (sound wise, its getting beat up on the outside) that it seems worse to let it collect dust.

Hey Eric, is that an AC30?  One of the Korg-era (or even older) Vox amps, or one of the new chinese-made CC reissued amps?  Or is it one of their solid state practice amps?

speaking of vox amps, the Awesome Color show last Friday was AWESOME!!.  One of Dereks  super-sound making tricks:  A very small Vox amp that he would pick up while he was playing and hold it in front of his pick-ups to create super distorto octave splitting feedback reminisent of the kinds of sounds i have previously only heard created through synthesizers.(parts and labor comes to mind, cappy - who also re-visited sluggo's recently.)  not sure what kind of pedals he was using, as i was paying more attention to the rock than the gear.  I am happy to announce that Awesome Color will be returning to Sluggo's on june 27 to play with vena cava and local phenoms (and sluggo's staff all-star revue), tender cobras.  As a token of appreciation for the couch-cushion sleep arrangements, Awesome Derek left me with a copy of another one of his projects, "Scotch Bonnet", featuring songs by Scotty Karate.  I recommend.  something very chris bell-ish about it.  but more rockin.

Those birthday party pics are great.

Yesterday was my girlfriend's birthday and we celebrated with a trip to the zoo.

We have no pictures, but there's a lot of boring video.

Tripp, I gotta tell ya.  The first 30 minutes of Spider-Man 3 is just the beginning of the lazy storytelling.

They really lost their mojo on this one.  The whole story just feels thrown together.

The movie has its good moments, but it's the worst of the series by far.

Cool!  Those older AC30s are worth a pretty penny.  Beat up outsides gives an amp character.  As long as the insides are working properly, who cares?  Besides, you can always have it fixed, you know?  I've had my my old silverface Super Reverb rebuilt, it had been turned into a head by the previous owner, and now it's back to a 4x10" combo.  It's at the amp tech right now, getting a revision.  I should get it back Friday.  I'm dying to hear it!

What's up homeslices*?

Hey Capt nice...bounce house...we were thinking of getting one for my daughter's party...did you rent it? Did you and the missus try it out?

Speaking of movies...know what might be the greatest scene ever? The scene in breakfast club after Emilo smokes up and then proceeds to run and do flips and cartwheels...it's freaking incredible!

yeppers, rented it.   It was a lil pricey for 4 hours.  but they were so busy, they had to set it up the night before.  so we totally had adult bouncey party at midnight.

(and I promptly fucked up my back hot-dogging)

I HIGHly recommend it.  Ain't nobody don't like bouncing.  (and much fewer lawsuits than having a trampoline)
