so, we spent most of the weekend down in rolling fork, MS. my dad's from there and bought a house there to fix up and eventually retire to in a few years (decades). it was really great. rolling fork is such a time warp town. very sleepy, very...yeah, time warp-y. not changed at all since the 50s. b___ and i just walked around a lot and enjoyed hearing lots of frogs and being able to buy booze at the liquor store with a check (cheque)! and didn't even have to show an ID for the check! it was so surreal. and awesome.

my dad's band played the deep delta festival down there on saturday- it was so cute. they were throwin' down on some 'hoochie coochie man'. i just loved it.
